Discount Party World is a one stop party shop and has thousands of theme party items, tableware, birthday party decorations and variety of balloons. The company is growing rapidly and now we are having a new store at Surfers Paradise. We are looking for hiring a store manager for our Surfers Paradise store. The applicant must be able to handle multi tasks and work efficiently.

The Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Business owner, this position is responsible for assisting with the delivery of financial targets and company key performance indicators focusing on creating a warm and genuine customer service experience. This role will also assist with building a team that is empowered to exceed. As a store manager, you must work on the floor but not in the office.

You will also be responsible, however not limited to the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Driving sales and profit ensuring the achievement of all KPI’s as set by the company
  • Champion our core values on the shop floor in everything you do. Manage the team (Shop Floor & Back of House) to ensure that tasks are completed in an efficient and effective manner
  • Providing leadership, training and developing team capability
  • Maintain a focus on commercial acumen ensuring the team have an understanding of the performance of the store
  • Problem solving and ability to provide solutions
  • Roster management and payroll approval
  • Drive a customer centric culture creating a warm and genuine customer service experience
  • Adhere to all company behaviours, policies and procedures
  • Work a full-time roster and must be able to work on Saturdays and some night shifts
  • Knowledge of balloons and be able to do balloon arrangment ( training provided)

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • Experience as an Manager or working in high sales turnover retail business with experienced merchanding skill
  • Basic understanding of budgets, interpreting financial reports and generating efficient rosters
  • Experience managing the performance, training and development of a small to medium team
  • Skills associated with driving productivity with team members
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Leadership, motivator, and aspirational attributes
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, tasks and overall expectations
  • Manage placing orders with suppliers and maintain stocks level

Salary: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
