The Diversity and Equal Opportunities Team at the Academic Registry is looking for a suitable appointee for the position of Assistant Manager (Diversity and Equal Opportunities). Led by the University’s Equal Opportunities Officer, the team was newly set up in 2022 and being tasked to advance the development of diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion of the University.
The appointee will be responsible for (i) providing executive support to new projects; (ii) providing assistance in promotion and organization of activities and training programmes; (iii) maintaining and managing websites; (iv) providing support to committees and meetings; (v) handling complaints and enquiries; and (vi) performing other ad hoc tasks as assigned. Occasional irregular working hours, including weekends, evenings or holidays, may be required.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ relevant experience, preferably in the tertiary education field or non-profit-making organizations. The appointee should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably with fluency in Putonghua), a basic understanding of the discrimination ordinances in Hong Kong, strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and under pressure, good IT proficiency (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and a positive attitude. Relevant experience in events management or complaints handling will be advantageous. (Duration: 12 months, non-renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
