Main Responsibilities:
· Guest service agents answer telephone calls from guests seeking to make or cancel hotel reservations.
· Greeting guests on arrival assign rooms and issue keys.
· Collect guest payment and billing information.
· Must answer guest requests for assistance and coordinate with housekeeping, bell desk, staff and management to fulfill guest requirements.
· Provide guests with access to hotel services, forward in-room meal requests, and ensure that mail, faxes and packages are delivered in a timely manner.
· Deal with upset guests and find ways to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
· Serve as concierges, assisting guests with ground transportation, restaurant or entertainment reservations, and providing other information about the city/local area.
· Responsible for bookkeeping duties, including maintaining a cash drawer and posting charges whenever required into the guest folios.
· Upon checkout, agent arranges the guest's final bill according to their mentioned mode of payment in the PMS and settle the bill accordingly.
· Assist in any other duties when required by the Duty Managers.
· Assist with translations (information: guest directory; menus etc.) as required.
· Multitasking abilities will always come in handy.
· Must be polite and courteous.
· Collect and provide feedback from Guests to Duty Managers/Front Office Manager for action.
· Must be able to retain the good repute and image of the company.
· Follow department SOP’s.
· Whenever required assist switch board, reservations calls handling.
· Uses up-selling techniques to obtain higher revenue.
· Making housekeeping discrepancy report on shift basis.
· Making fruit basket and replenish report on shift basis.
· To ensure that all discrepancies from finance department are resolved with no delay.
- Understands the various rates as applied to different room types and Packages.
· Must know occupancy of the day with all room types available, BAR of the day, events happening of the day, any promotions and packages offered.
· To ensure all the registration cards and vouchers are dropped into the guest registration buckets/pits.
