Manager, Privacy Incident Response [United States]


 
The Manager, Privacy Incident Response is responsible for processing potential privacy incidents originating anywhere within the Meta family of apps and services. You manage Meta's privacy incident response from identification, triage, and through containment, including the Critical Incident Response team. You ensure that incidents are addressed from both the technical and the legal / regulatory aspects, providing input to both Engineering and appropriate Legal teams. The Manager, Privacy Incident Response reports to the Privacy Incident Management Director, and interfaces with the Privacy Engineering Team, Meta functional Engineering teams, Legal, Policy, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Manager, Privacy Incident Response Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a team of individual contributors who are responsible for handling all Meta first party privacy incidents.
  • Intake incidents from all Meta units
  • perform incident fact gathering and initial assessment of privacy risk
  • provide that input to Privacy Incident Legal for legal.assessment.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into privacy incidents and track incident containment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder communications and required actions relative to incident remediation, voluntary or mandatory regulatory or user notification, and external communications.
  • Prepare and maintain investigation reports and supporting documentation, including leadership and Board of Director reporting. Maintain a repository of all Meta privacy incidents.
  • Identify and implement key performance indicators, service level objectives, and process and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Build, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with internal customers.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years security, compliance, or privacy incident management experience.
  • 3+ years of people management and team-building experience.
  • Organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking experience to get things done in an ambiguous and fast paced environment.
  • Experience with relationship building and collaboration to bring together multiple perspectives within cross-functional teams.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent degree.
  • Experience operating and improving a centralized incident management investigation and process.
  • Highly organized, productive, poised with experience thriving in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios.
  • Experience working in a technical environment influencing stakeholder and engineering teams.
  • Experience working directly with executives to support business decision making.
