Our client leading breeder and producer of agricultural seeds in Egypt, and one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest independent agricultural companies. The company provides farmers with high-performing seeds that are adapted to the country needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bring outstanding leadership and innovation to ensure the company retains its position as a market leading organization, building on a performance culture and continuing its ongoing professionalization, including building out best in class processes, systems and structures
- Support in the formation of a strategic R&D vision, encouraging innovation, systemization, best practice implementation and product
expansion
- Relentless focus on execution, driving operations and performance across R&D, production, processing, sales and distribution
- Secure production supply both domestically and internationally (key target markets include India, Kenya and Zambia)
- Drive sales & distribution excellence including identifying new customers, optimizing pricing, driving cash collections / returns etc.
- Engage with key external stakeholders (including shareholders, customers, suppliers, government agencies, etc.)
- Provide leadership and direction to the organization, driving high levels of employee engagement and building-out, managing and
upgrading the team where appropriate, including relevant recruitment, mentoring and training
Requirements
Key Experiences
Strong leadership track record as a senior leader (e.g., CEO, COO, Country GM, Divisional MD / VP), with experience in the seeds or agricultural sector
(including relevant R&D exposure) preferred.
- Prior experience of working in Emerging Markets (Middle East / Asia Pacific most relevant)
- Previous experience in a privately owned / family-owned business most relevant, with a track record in driving the professionalisation of
operations and improving execution and performance
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive sales including optimizing pricing, identifying new customers etc.
