UW Medicine Patient Financial Access Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist, Harborview – Admitting.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-time, Evening Shift

  • Wednesdays-Sundays, includes weekends

  • 8-hour shifts, 3:00pm-11:30pm


  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  • The Admitting department is the go-to department for the medical centers, providing services to patients and staff for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary departments

  • Long considered the ‘problem-solver’ for the hospital, we pride ourselves on the highest level of customer service with quick responses for resolving issues from units and patients

  • Admitting supports all inpatient and outpatient areas in the hospital


  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As part of an integrated staffing model, provide reception and scheduling services

  • Verify demographic and financial information through pre-registration process

  • Complete patient registration including obtaining consent for medical care and financial agreement

  • Serve as the primary resource for coordinating the daily patient flow and providing patient support services

  • Perform specialized clerical and technical duties to facilitate the delivery of patient care including triaging patient telephone calls to clinical staff


  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience
