As Business Development Representative – UK at smec, you are a key member of our high-performing Growth team and pivotal to our company’s success in the UK! By leveraging your lead generation experience and excellent communication and networking skills, you know how to connect with potential clients and develop an interest in our product offering.

smec’s goal is to become the world’s preferred growth partner for the e-commerce market. Within the Business Development team, you’ll find a team of dynamic and adaptable individuals who are passionate in hunting new business and introducing our product and service with the intention of helping companies to grow and drive revenue. Through intelligent market research, prospecting and qualifying leads, you achieve financial growth and have a significant impact on the success of our company by having a quarterly quota responsibility.

Your tasks

  • You build a predictable Sales pipeline within the UK online retail market.
  • You actively approach prospects (c-suite/directors) and educate the market about the power of smec as a retail growth partner – through emails, social outreach, calls, networking and independent research.
  • You conduct discovery calls to get an understanding of the business objectives, evaluate pain points and gather critical information about the decision process.
  • You develop product stories and craft individual solutions in order to meet the needs of your prospects.
  • You maintain a well-organized, relevant and up-to-date sales information and activity reports in our CRM Salesforce.
  • You work on cross-department strategic initiatives with marketing, product and client success management to turn learnings into actions.

Your profile

  • You have at least two years of relevant work experience (preferably B2B SaaS sales, marketing agency, consulting).
  • You have a proven can-do attitude and a verifiable track record with growth results.
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and understand the essence of cross-functional work.
  • You are a self-starter who has the desire to take up new initiatives and join a competitive environment – constantly aiming to overcome rejections and achieve results!
  • You are an empathetic person with excellent listening and communication skills (writing and speaking) in English.
  • You are part of our Biz-Dev Team and are excited about the opportunity to work hybrid from our Headquarter (Tabakfabrik Linz) or Vienna office (Mariahilferstraße).
