Library Technician

C.U.P.E. 2357 (10 month, Level 5)
Under the direction of the Principal, the Library Technician:
- Operates the school Learning Commons and provides services in an automated/digital environment to meet the needs of staff and students
- Promotes authors, books, literacy, technology and holds special events
- Performs administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school
- Coordinates volunteers’ activities
- Performs other duties, as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Secondary school diploma
- 2 year Community College diploma (i.e. Library Technician, etc)
- 2 years of related experience
- Expertise with Destiny, computer hardware and software, mobile technology, various AV equipment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
- The use of a personal vehicle may be required
This is a 0.50 FTE permanent 10 month position with an annual salary range of $42,843 - $46,383 (will be prorated to reflect a 0.5 FTE position). An employee benefits package is also provided.
The anticipated start date is August 28, 2023.
