The Role
The position based in Singapore is a part of global trade management and responsible to support Global strategy in terms of volume and commitment with approved carriers covering the sub-trades of Middle East, Africa and Indian Sub-con. The position will be responsible for driving trade strategy and carrier relationships through procurement, RFQ pricing and contract management activities.
In close cooperation with the Regional Trade Lane Managers, he/she manages Global and
Regional businesses to ensure key performance indicators are met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze trade lanes and capacities based on cargo flows, carrier shares, net-achieved costs on respective trade lanes and align capacity planning.
- Procurement and Negotiation:
- Negotiate with shipping lines on freight, space, equipment, allocation
- Support country trade teams with rate inquiries, quotations, and solutions
- To undertake tender and bidding tasks and ensure its timely and accurate completion/ submission
- Ownership of carrier contract management and database
- Driving and monitoring accounts performance commitments to achieve overall
- targets.
- Support the ocean business administration to increase approved carrier space
- allotment in close cooperation with the Regional Tradelane Managers.
- Driving and monitoring carrier performance to achieve overall commitment and compliance.
- Overseeing continuous process improvements and introduce best practices to enhance operational efficiencies and effectiveness in global and regional business.
- Supports most efficient establishment and execution of all regional and country operational processes based on the corporate SOP’s and guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Completed College / University degree / Industry apprenticeship
- 4+ years Freight Forwarding (or related Industry) experience
- Ability to communicate at all levels of business and across cultural / National boundaries.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Comfortable presenting to an audience
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Good sales techniques
- Proven track record in business development
- Willingness to travel and / or work overtime when required
- Excellent written and spoken English Language
