DESCRIPTION
1. Background:
Doctors Without Borders is an international humanitarian organization that provides medical assistance to populations in need worldwide. As part of talent management, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of competency frameworks and explore alternative approaches that can enhance the organization's recruitment, development, and performance management processes.
2. Objectives:
The main objectives of the internship project are as follows:
- Conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of existing competency framework models available in the market.
- Evaluate the suitability and applicability of these competency frameworks to the specific context and requirements of Doctors Without Borders.
- Explore alternative approaches to competency frameworks, such as strengths-based assessments, values-based assessments, or potential-based assessments, and assess their relevance to talent management at Doctors Without Borders.
- Determine the potential benefits and challenges associated with implementing alternative approaches.
- Develop recommendations for enhancing the competency framework and incorporating alternative approaches, either as standalone models or as complementary components.
3. Scope of Work:
The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Conduct a literature review to identify and gather information on existing competency framework models used in various industries and sectors.
- Analyze and compare different competency frameworks to assess their strengths, weaknesses, and relevance to Doctors Without Borders.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders within the organization, including department heads, team leaders, and HR personnel, to understand the organization's specific competency requirements and challenges.
- Identify areas of alignment and misalignment between the existing competency framework and the organization's goals.
- Explore alternative approaches to competency frameworks, such as strengths-based assessments, values-based assessments, and potential-based assessments.
- Assess the applicability and suitability of alternative approaches to talent management at Doctors Without Borders.
- Determine the potential benefits and challenges associated with implementing alternative approaches.
- Develop a comprehensive report summarizing the findings, including recommendations for enhancing the competency framework and incorporating alternative approaches.
4. Deliverables:
The intern will be expected to produce the following deliverables:
- Literature review report summarizing the existing competency framework models available in the market.
- Report on alternative approaches to competency frameworks, including strengths-based assessments, values-based assessments, and potential-based assessments.
- Final presentation summarizing the findings and recommendations.
5. Duration and Timeline:
The internship project is expected to have a duration of 4 months. The timeline for different tasks will be determined in collaboration with the intern and supervisor, ensuring efficient progress and completion of deliverables.
7. Conditions
- 4 months internship contract (can be discuss) - Full time if possible– internship with school convention
- Unpaid internship - Reimbursement (100%) of public transport costs for travels to the office

The intern will be assigned a supervisor who will provide guidance and support throughout the project. Regular meetings will be scheduled to review progress, provide feedback, and address any questions or concerns.
