The South Waikato District Council has an exciting opportunity to join our journey to make a difference for our community. This is your chance to come on board as our new Parks Officer - Contract Management.

Te āheinga: The opportunity

As the Parks Officer - Contract Management you will

  • Audit our contractors on health and safety procedures and practices.
  • Monitor litter contracts on time frames and budgets.
  • Audit and oversee the maintenance of our open spaces, including local parks, reserves, sports grounds, playgrounds, cemeteries, and walkways.
  • Be responsible for public enquiries and complaints related to Parks contractor maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who likes a diverse role, knows how to work around multiple contracts, and is keen to go the extra mile for our people.

We are looking for a team player with:

  • Experience in contract management, preferably in facilities management, open spaces or a related field.
  • Knowledge of horticultural and arboriculture maintenance best practices.
  • Negotiations and relationship management skills.
  • The ability to take initiative.
  • Problem-solving skills.
