Be part of the Cloud Operations team that designs and supports the multi-cloud infrastructure for the world’s largest business network where 3.1 million businesses operating in 190 countries trade 3.8 trillion USD in goods and services every year using the best-in-class cloud procurement solution.

ISBN Cloud Operations team is looking for a hands on technical leader for our Data Services team in Prague to support the Hana, Hadoop, Redis, Cassandra, InfluxDB, Kafka, Postgres, and MySQL, instances supporting platform across 15 global data centers in public cloud and SAP’s Converged Cloud.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about solving challenging problems with technology and designing, automating, and maintaining innovative and reliable infrastructure solutions.


What you’ll do:


  • Leading and growing the team that designs and supports Procurement and Business Network’s globally distributed Data Services infrastructure in multi-cloud and SAP’s Converged Cloud.
  • Implementing architecture, automation, and tooling improvements in the Data Services stack to support Procurement’s and Business Network’s growth initiatives and “always available” infrastructure goals
  • Driving innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the organization to increase agility and continuous improvement feedback loops
  • Collaborating with Application Engineering and ISBN Cloud Operations colleagues to deliver Data Services’ infrastructure projects
  • Engaging and mentoring the amazing members of ISBN Cloud Operations Data Services’ team
  • Building relationships with Application Engineering teams and collaborating on application architecture and design


What you´ll bring:


  • 5+ years’ experience leading teams that design and build highly available, scalable database infrastructure (Oracle, SAP Hana, Hadoop, Redis, Influxdb, Cassandra, MySQL, Postgres) in hybrid or public cloud environments or leading engineering teams with experience in infrastructure or continuous deployment/delivery pipeline designs.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute, to deliver on project commitments, and to build relationships across team and organizational boundaries
  • Willingness to take the initiative to contribute beyond your own responsibilities
  • Ability and interest to learn and deploy new technologies quickly
  • You are curious, persistent, kind, optimistic, and passionate about using technology to make a difference in people’s lives and the world.
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or other technical discipline
  • Experience with designing and supporting database systems on containers and in public cloud environments
  • A strong desire to not only maintain but to improve existing systems
  • Strong focus on efficiency, simplicity, scalability, and maintainability
  • Background in development and experience with perl, python, java, or C
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using tools like Salt, Chef, and Puppet
  • Experience with source code revision systems such as Perforce or git.
