Warehouse Operative [United Kingdom]


 

We are seeking a reliable and computer literate Warehouse Operative to join our team. The Warehouse Assistant will primarily be responsible for handling various tasks within the warehouse, including computer-based duties, lifting and moving items, and assisting with general warehouse operations. This is a temporary to permanent on the successful completion of 12 weeks work.

Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer systems and software to manage inventory, track shipments, and update warehouse databases.
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, including receiving, inspecting, and storing items.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently according to provided guidelines.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, utilizing appropriate equipment and following safety protocols..
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is essential.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in using inventory management software, spreadsheet programs, and other relevant tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and processing orders.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime if required.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety practices.

Working Hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 weeks

Salary: £12.50-£13.40 per hour
