Who do we look for?
We look for an enthusiastic, open-minded and flexible Trainee who is seeking an opportunity to support and learn from a diverse and highly experienced team of investment professionals. Your main responsibility will be assisting our Head of Investments working on various projects depending on the current needs and priorities of the Company at the time of your placement. This could range from market research, due diligence and deal vetting to portfolio management, transaction management, financial forecasting and more.
You will be part of a small international team of ambitious corporate finance professionals and you can expect to gain insights into various asset classes, industries, and geographies as well as hands-on experience in an international working culture.
We are looking for a candidate who is an ambitious and motivated allrounder, who is eager to learn and not afraid to take initiative and jump in on a new project. A strong candidate would be a critical thinker who has base level experience in Finance, Economics or Mathematics, however we will accept applications from outside of these fields. Master Level candidate is an advantage. We appreciate candidates who value both quantitative and qualitative work and will look for someone who demonstrates strong analytical skills as well as effective communication and presentation abilities.
While this is a trainee position, we would like to hire an optimistic fast learner who understands and proactively supports our priorities and wants to develop his/her skills with us to become a solid team member in the future.

We are an international office located in Austria so both English and German language proficiency are needed. As English is the main operational language in the office, we ask that all applications are submitted in English. We highly value additional languages, especially Italian. The position is full-time, is not remote and will be based in our offices in Vienna.
Tasks
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high-level research, analyze markets, examine industry trends, track competitive landscape, etc.
- Assist in investment opportunities analysis and deal flow pipeline management
- Do initial screening and analyze new investment opportunities across different asset classes
- Assist in financial modelling, valuation and investment structuring of investment opportunities, together with learning about due diligence process
- Participate in the active monitoring of investments in portfolio companies and organize reports and company updates in the CRM tool
- Review companies’ portfolio information and prepare executive summaries on company progress and other information submitted by portfolio companies
- Support portfolio companies on relevant strategic and fundraising related topics
- Prepare relevant supporting documentation for investment deal flow and pipeline
- Other tasks and projects associated with our investment portfolio as they arise
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – finance, accounting, math, economics or related discipline. (We also accept applications from students in their last year of study). Master’s qualifications are a plus.
- Any Corporate Finance experience in an investment, consulting or audit firm or similar areas is valued
- Basic knowledge of Private Equity and Venture Capital asset classes is preferred
- Strong analytical and market research skills
- Good skills in presenting data in concise written summaries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint
- Strong time-management and communication skills
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English, and German min B2 level
