About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Traffic Manager to lead the team through the NZGTTM adoption in the Northland NOC, contribute to proactive risk management, contract management reporting, mitigations and interventions to improve contract and customer outcomes for Northland.
On a day-to-day basis, our Traffic Manager will:
  • Liaise and direct TTM resource to meet TTM risk assessment and planning process requirements
  • Develop, maintain and manage the implementation of the NOC Traffic Control Plan
  • Plan, coordinate and manage all TTM works on the network to ensure safety standards are adhered to through the application of robust risk assessment and management processes.
  • Ensure all work is implemented in such a way that the risk to road workers is identified early, and appropriate mitigations are in place applying the hierarchy of controls where-ever practicable.
  • Provide leadership and advice on Temporary Traffic Management issues to the Contract Management Team
  • Ensure all required risk assessments and TMP’s are managed and approved to meet agreed timelines, and that the risk assessment and TMP is fit for purpose.
  • Provide assurance that site activities meet full compliance with the approved risk assessment and TMPs
  • Coordinate and promote individual and team competence and training to ensure staff capability is appropriate for the activities being undertaken, staff are well trained.
  • Identify pinch points in maintenance delivery in the early planning stage so that the delivery methodology is developed to best meet the outcomes required, taking account of safety and road user impact.
  • Ensure a robust system is in place to manage and monitor TM crews, and sub-contractor TM crews with a focus on safety, productivity and utilisation.
  • Identify areas for improvement, contribute to proactive risk management and contract management reporting, mitigations and interventions to improve contract and customer outcomes
  • Ensure that health and safety, and quality system procedures are communicated to and complied with by all staff and subcontractors
About you
Our ideal Traffic Manager will have:
  • TTM or relevant Qualification (preferred)
  • Risk assessment Experience / Qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience managing and developing teams (preferred)
  • Safety related certification
  • Current class 1 drivers licence
