Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role

Due to an internal team promotion, we are looking for an administrative superstar who can provide high level administrative and technical support to our Legal & Commercial Team. Our team is passionate about working together to support our organisation in its legal, contractual and procurement processes.

This is a busy and varied role where, where no two days will be the same! You will assist with training new Council staff on our commercial processes and systems one day, and support the team on a diverse range of projects the next. You will also:

  • Be the first port of call for general queries to the Legal & Commercial Team
  • Support legal and commercial processes and provide system administrator services for our systems.
  • Maintain and develop a range of documentation and support project management with guidance from the team.

Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience

We are seeking someone who can expertly juggle competing priorities, and take it all in your stride. Time management and having an organised approach to work will be second nature to you. You will be a clear communicator, have great attention to detail and be a quick learner. Most importantly, you will have the ability to relate well to people at all levels, and deal people and information in a sensitive and confidential manner.

Technically, you will also have:

  • NCEA level 3 or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant administration work experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sound problem solving skills.
  • High level of computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of legal & commercial practice, relevant policies and legislation is desirable.

We manage the effects of people’s use of freshwater, land, air and coastal water. This position can be located in Tauranga or Whakatāne or Rotorua. Competitive remuneration will be offered to the successful candidates based on relevant skills and experience.
